About Airynaa

Here I am painting with my art critic Charlie
A whimsical creator, that is me...
I create imaginative, inspired, colourful, capricious and sometimes quirky art on canvases that can communicate with viewers a memory, a fantasy or a visual escape to a place where they can even go into dream mode.
My contemporary style of acrylic paintings are quite textural incorporating collage, mixed media and occasionally gold leaf.. This gives them a unique 3-D effect especially noticeable with the roofs of my buildings. The use of vibrant and harmonious colours along with the subject matter creates an uplifting mood.
Notable events, accomplishments and interests on my life’s journey include:
Landing on this planet in California; working in the legal, scientific and medical corporate fields; raising a son; discovering my interests in fine arts; establishing “The Pine Tree Gallery” in Sandpoint, Idaho, and later moving to Calgary, Canada where I met my husband, Carsen, a Chiropractor. Twenty-five years ago we traveled to Australia and set up a clinic on the south coast below Sydney. I continued to expand my desire to work with paints and colours and received my Diploma in Fine Arts 12 years ago.
Reading and listening to music; hanging out with hubby and friends, (occasionally with Charlie our Airedale terrier) at cafes enjoying hot chocolates or cappuccinos capped off with chats… is my thing. Cafes often appear in my paintings. Ocean swimming with my buddies at sunrise year around awakens my creative brain cells.
